The Department of Development's Community Services Division administers the Ohio Housing Trust Fund, which provides funding for a full range of housing activities, including rental assistance, housing counseling, homebuyer assistance, handicapped accessibility modifications, rehabilitation, home repair, and new construction. All programs funded by the Ohio Housing Trust Fund are focused on providing services to low-income Ohioans.
Part of the Ohio Housing Trust Fund budget is an allocation for the Resident Services Coordinator Program for $250,000. The Resident Services Coordinator Program is operated by the Ohio Department of Aging to fund resident services coordinators. Coordinators provide information to low-income and special-needs tenants, including the elderly, who live in financially assisted rental housing, and assist those tenants in identifying services available to them.
